The market for cyber insurance is growing rapidly and there are several initiatives to develop models of cyber risk and tools for cyber risk management decision support.
Over the past year, the Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies at the University of Cambridge has worked with a number of insurance industry organizations and many of the leading practitioners writing cyber insurance to develop a cyber insurance exposure data schema. The cyber risk research at Centre for Risk Studies is supported by a consortium of insurance companies, corporates, industry organizations, and RMS, Inc. We are grateful to the many people who have provided inputs into the development of the schema. This document sets out the schema incorporating the feedback received. It sets out the consensus principles for the schema, the structure, and the proposed tables and definitions of the components.
